The female body needs a Renaissance

And you know what the most amazing part about it is?

There are so many different shapes, sizes, colours, abilities, imperfections and silhouettes.

We can get lost in the trickery of all the dialogue out there, preying on our insecurities. There are so much negative narratives, disguised as helpful, but it is confusing because it is wrapped in perceived perfection.

I am here to tell you (for what it is worth) that your body is yours and it's beautiful.

Some days I think my body, is like the ones Botticelli painted in the 14th century, doesn't really fit the era now. But who cares every body deserves a Renaissance.

Believe me, I like thousands of women, get sucked into the social media vortex, where you are comparing your body, idolizing other women, wondering what life would be like if I morphed into another silhouette.

It is crushing and does not benefit our mental health. I think now more than ever we must surround ourselves with women role models that make us feel good about who we are.

Many of those women you won't find on the covers of magazines, or with 1 million followers, they are the women in our lives, our friends, community leaders, our neighbours. Real women, living their best lives and helping other women do the same.

We have a choice. We choose who we listen to, admire and follow. Sometimes we forget we have the power to silence those who don't make us feel good.

Yes poison can sometimes be the perfect package.

Your power lies in unwrapping it and letting your body bloom the way you intended it to.

Big Love
