Real Talk, Real Bodies...
Naturopath Jody Walker believe knowledge is power.
“Empowerment means sharing knowledge in a way that equips others to make informed, confident choices about their health and well-being.”
Jody Walker doesn’t just say this—she lives it.
With nearly 20 years of experience as a naturopath, Jody has become a leading voice in women’s health, period literacy, and hormonal education. Her journey began with her own struggles—years of undiagnosed PCOS that left her searching for answers in a system that often leaves women in the dark.
“I believe that knowledge is power, and when it comes to women’s health, that power starts with understanding our own bodies.”
From her Mackay clinic to online courses, community workshops, and partnerships with organisations like The Neighbourhood Hub, Jody is building a world where women are informed, confident, and connected to their health.
She works with everyone—from “young girls scared of their period, to strong perimenopausal women experiencing huge change”—with a mission to provide practical strategies and open dialogue.
“Too many women suffer in silence, unsure of what’s normal, when to seek help, or how to advocate for their health. Through my work, I strive to change that.”
But Jody’s leadership doesn’t stop with education. She’s also a community builder. Recognising the isolation that can come with solo practice, she created a local naturopath network in Mackay—“a supportive space for open exchange, referrals, and camaraderie.”
She leads by example in every part of her life. As a mum, she shares knowledge and strength with her daughter. As a competitive triathlete, she challenges the idea that vitality has an age limit.
“A 40-year-old mum of two can still compete at a world championship, run a successful practice, and have the flexibility in my work (that I worked hard for!) to be present for my kids.”
Still, Jody’s biggest challenge hasn’t been her workload—it’s been herself.
“The high expectations I place on myself and the pursuit of perfection... can be both a driving force and an exhausting weight. Learning to balance ambition with self-compassion has been a continuous journey.”
Jody is a finalist in Health and Wellbeing Warrior 2025 , recognised for her courage to speak up, create change, and lift others along the way.
“I hope that the mothers I teach pass their knowledge on to their daughters, and the daughters I teach pass their knowledge on to their girlfriends.”
And just like that—Jody is building a ripple effect of knowledge giving women the power to listen to their bodies.
